The Jazz Association of Singapore Orchestra

The Jazz Association of Singapore Orchestra (JASSO) is the coming together of some of the best jazz musicians in Singapore, mostly Singaporeans but also a few Singapore residents from around the world.

JASSO is led by Singapore's King of Swing and one of Asia's best known Jazz musicians Jeremy Monteiro, who has performed on the main stages of the Montreux, London and Mt Fuji Jazz festivals to name a few, a 14 piece version of JASSO will travel to play at the 2017 JZ Shanghai Jazz Festival.

Notable musicians amongst the Singapore group coming to the festival are top Singaporean musicians Jazznote Recording Artist and vocalist Melissa Tham, top SE Asian Jazz guitarist Andrew Lim who has also lived and worked in New York, winner of the USA Flute Association Jazz Category Rit Xu and one of the most respected drummers in the region, Tamagoh.

Among the expat members in the band are Australian saxophonist Tim Stocker and American Trombonist Regan Wickman.

The band will also be joined in Shanghai by top Shanghai-based musicians, guest vocalist Jasmine Chen, Trumpeter Toby Mak and Saxophonist Nik Xue amongst others.

The Jazz Association of Singapore Orchestra is managed by the Jazz Association (Singapore) Limited, a charity registered in Singapore, and our trip to play at the JZ Shanghai Festival is kindly supported by the National Arts Council of Singapore.
