【One Planet】JZ Festival shakes hands with WWF

At the charming moment of the 10th anniversary of Jazz Shanghai Festival, the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) shakes his hand with JZ. A joint program in title of For a Living Planet is launched on the concept of conservation. The festival will see its passion to activate people’s attention and participation for environment conservation thru the moving part of artist and music.

As one of world's largest independent conservation organization with over millions of supporters worldwide, WWF have been working in more than 100 countries, supporting around 1,300 conservation and environmental projects. Our mission is to stop the degradation of the planet’s natural environment and to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature. Our work focuses on the conservation of the world's biodiversity, use of sustainable natural resources, reduction of pollution and over-consumption. In 1980, WWF was the first international NGO invited by the Chinese government and started to protect the giant panda and the habitat in the wild. Today there are up to 100 programs in China are supported by WWF, covering tiger, Yangtze River habitat conservation area, climate and energy, giant panda, market transformation, etc.

In the context of Jazz Shanghai festival, WWF and the organizer rise to explore the connection among music, environment, people’s life. Regarded in the pursuit of freedom, equality and balance of nature, jazz could be the art in the same track with the conservation spirit that calls for a harmonious living between human and Earth. Followed with the green event advice and low carbon participation to the festival, WWF aims to convey the “for a living planet” message via Internet, social media, and activities on the ground. The message, associated with ecological footprint, encourages individuals to voice out for the Earth environment with their imaginations, thoughts or actions.

Join in For a Living Planet! Feel the music, get into the beats. It’s a pleasant moment to appreciate the beauty of nature and release your mass power for Earth.
